James Dougherty

Dr. James Dougherty is a co-founder and General Partner of Arcus Ventures, a venture fund focused on investing in oncology companies, and has extensive experience in the strategic and financial aspects of biotech and pharma. Initially trained as a biologist, he received his MD degree from the Hershey School of Medicine at Pennsylvania State University and MBA degree from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. James Dougherty has performed a wide arrange of key roles within the medical field. He served as Deputy Physician-in-Chief for Clinical Affairs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he led considerable efforts for the reorganization of clinical programs and revamped research and clinical operations with IT-based solutions. Additional roles held by Dr. Dougherty include, Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals and founding Editor-in-chief for CancerSmart, a subscription-based publication for Memorial Sloan-Kettering. He was previously a Venture partner at Cross Atlantic Partners, a New York City-based venture capital fund for the healthcare and biotechnology sector. Dr. James Dougherty will advise TILT on business and clinical strategy.
